Boo at the Zoo | October 1 – 29
Calling all ghosts, goblins, and witches – join us for Boo at the Zoo every day, 10:00am to 4:00pm. Enjoy this family-friendly Halloween event with all new experiences! Armenian Food Festival | October 6 & 7
Celebrate the 68th annual Armenian Food Festival with music, food, dancing and culture. Games for kids, dance performances. The largest Armenian Festival in the East Bay! Friday, October 6 from 5:30 to 11pm. Saturday, October 7 from noon – 11pm. St. Vartan Armenian Church. More info here!

Autumn Lights Festival | October 12-14
The Gardens at Lake Merritt hosts this annual kid-friendly festival of magic and lights every year to raise funds to keep Oakland public gardens an accessible oasis, generously supported by volunteers. A true community benefit event that create memories to last! Buy tickets here!

Oktoberfest | October 13th 6-10pm & 14th 12-8pm
Oktoberfest will include live entertainment, music, dancing, gourmet food and dozens of artisan vendors, arts & crafts, biergarten with dozens of craft beers, wine, international music, Kinder Platz Kids Zone. Buy tickets here!

Laser After Hours: Fright Night Light | Friday, October 13 at 7:30pm
This adults only event is a Halloween-themed laser show with a featured thematic cocktail of the night, beer & wine! Costumes encouraged. Chabot Space & Science Center. Click for tickets.

DogFest Bay Area 2023 | October 21 from Noon to 4pm
Join the fun at your local DogFest as we celebrate the joy dogs bring to our lives. Registration is free. Fundraising is encouraged. DogFest supports the mission of Canine Companions to enhance the lives of people with disabilities. Jack London Square. Click for more info!

Dia de los Muertos Festival | October 29 from 10am – 5pm
For 28 years, the Unity Council’s annual Oakland Día de los Muertos Festival has welcomed tens of thousands of visitors to the vibrant, culturally-rich Fruitvale neighborhood for a free, outdoor, family-friendly event taking place to commemorate the Mexican traditions around the Día de los Muertos. Festival attendees will enjoy world-class live music, family-friendly games, rides and activities, traditional Latin American artisans, and the stunning altares created by community members paying homage to los Muertos.
